9 x 12 Fine Mesh Nylon Hop Bag

This 9 x 12 fine mesh nylon hop bag is a compact reusable bag for keeping small brewing additions contained during the boil, whirlpool, fermentation, or conditioning. It is sized for dry hopping, small grain steeps, spices, oak, botanicals, and other additions where loose material would be harder to remove cleanly.

Fine mesh is useful when you want more containment than a coarse steeping bag. Wort, beer, cider, wine, or mead can still move through the bag, while hop matter and larger solids stay easier to lift out at the end of contact time.

Best Uses

  • Dry hopping: contains pellet or whole-leaf hops so the fermenter is easier to rack from.
  • Small grain steeps: holds specialty grain in extract batches and test batches.
  • Spices and oak: keeps cinnamon, citrus peel, oak chips, and similar additions easier to remove.
  • Trial batches: the smaller format is easy to handle when a full-size bag would take up too much room.

Use and Cleaning Notes

Give the addition enough room inside the bag for liquid to circulate. Overpacking can reduce contact and make extraction less even. Clean and sanitize the bag before any cold-side use, then rinse it soon after use so hop resin, grain starch, fruit pulp, or spice material does not dry into the mesh.

For larger grain bills or brew-in-a-bag mashing, use a larger bag from our hop and grain bags collection. For matching ingredients, browse our hops, brewing grains, and additives and spices collections.
