Shipping Policy
We want shipping to be clear before you place an order. Most qualifying U.S. orders under 20 lb ship on regional flat-rate pricing. Bulk items, heavy orders, oversize items, local-only products, and certain exceptions may instead show live carrier-calculated shipping at checkout.
Order processing
- Most in-stock orders are processed Monday through Friday.
- Same-day shipping, when available, applies only to items that are physically in stock at SoCal Brewing Supply and ready to fulfill from our shop.
- Products that drop ship or transfer from a distributor or manufacturer take longer, even when the product page can still be ordered.
- Spike Brewing, BrewBuilt, and similar equipment brands may ship from our on-hand inventory when we have the item in stock, or may drop ship / transfer from the distributor or manufacturer when we do not.
- Orders placed earlier in the day are more likely to ship the same business day when every item is available on hand, but same-day shipment is not guaranteed.
- Weather, carrier delays, inventory checks, manufacturer availability, holidays, or heat-sensitive product handling may delay shipment.
Regional flat-rate shipping
For most qualifying orders under 20 lb, the current flat-rate pricing is:
- $9.99: California, Arizona, Nevada
- $10.99: Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming
- $11.99: Oregon, Utah, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri
- $12.99: Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota
- $13.99: Louisiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC
- $14.99: Florida, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, and international destinations do not receive flat-rate shipping. Those destinations will show calculated carrier rates at checkout.
When flat-rate shipping does not apply
- Orders over 20 lb gross
- Bulk items such as many 50 lb and 55 lb bags
- Oversize products or items that must ship separately
- Local pickup / exchange-only gas items
- Certain drop-ship, distributor-transfer, or manufacturer-fulfilled products with special handling, including some Spike Brewing, BrewBuilt, and similar equipment when not on hand
When an order does not qualify for flat-rate shipping, checkout will show live shipping options based on the order's size, weight, and destination.
Liquid yeast shipping
Liquid yeast is stored cold before shipment, then packed for transit based on the protection option selected. Once a package leaves our facility, carrier conditions are outside our control. We recommend insulated protection and faster shipping for liquid yeast, especially in warm weather or on longer routes.
- We recommend ordering liquid yeast earlier in the week when possible.
- We strongly recommend insulated packaging and ice packs for liquid yeast shipments. Ice packs add a cold buffer against heat, but excessive heat, long transit time, delays, or a hot delivery location can overpower that buffer.
- For warmer or longer routes, expedited shipping is safer than economy ground service.
Carrier transit expectations
Carrier delivery windows shown at checkout are estimates, not guarantees. Weather, missed scans, routing issues, and weekend holds can extend transit time.
Local-only and exchange items
CO2, nitrogen, beer gas exchange items, and certain local-service products are not eligible for parcel shipping and may require local pickup.
