Whether used in small amounts for subtle enhancements or in larger quantities for a more dominant malt profile, Simpsons DRC® is perfect for creating richer, malt-forward brews with layers of flavor.
Flavor and Aroma Profile
Simpsons DRC® Malt delivers a robust flavor profile with strong notes of toffee, caramel, and dark dried fruits like raisins and figs. The double roasting process gives it a distinctive, layered sweetness with a hint of roasted complexity, adding depth to the overall beer. This malt also contributes a rich amber to dark brown color, making it visually appealing for darker ales, stouts, and porters.
Typical Usage
Simpsons DRC® Malt is ideal for a wide range of beer styles, including stouts, porters, strong ales, and malt-forward beers. It is typically used at 5-15% of the grain bill to add complexity, color, and a pronounced malt sweetness.
