The Pliny the Elder Clone Extract Recipe Kit adapts the existing all-grain Pliny-style double IPA kit into an extract-with-grains format. Pale Ale DME, Golden Light DME, and dextrose build the clean gravity base, Carapils and Caramel 40L add light structure, and a heavy Columbus, Simcoe, and Centennial hop bill drives the pine, citrus, resin, and grapefruit character expected from a classic West Coast double IPA.

Extract Packaging Note
This extract version uses 8 lb total dry malt extract packed as 2 × 3 lb Briess Pale Ale DME plus 2 × 1 lb Briess Golden Light DME. The split keeps the bundle accurate in Shopify while preserving the light malt base needed for a Pliny-style double IPA. A separate 1 lb dextrose addition helps keep the finish dry.
Flavor and Brewing Character
Expect a very hop-forward West Coast double IPA profile: firm bitterness, pine, grapefruit, resin, citrus, a clean malt platform, and a dry finish. Drink it fresh and protect it from oxygen after fermentation.
