Pacific Snap Cold IPA All-grain Recipe Kit for Cold IPA / West Coast Pilsner Character
Pacific Snap Cold IPA is a modern West Coast-minded recipe for brewers who want IPA aroma and firm bitterness with a cleaner, drier finish than a hazy or malt-heavy IPA. Cold IPA is a newer American craft style that borrows lager-like fermentation character, lean adjunct structure, and assertive hopping to make a beer that feels crisp instead of sweet.
This all-grain kit should pour pale, bright, and snappy, with Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe bringing citrus peel, berry, pine, and tropical aromatics over a dry base. Choose it when you want a hop-forward beer that still finishes clean enough for warm weather, repeat pours, and West Coast-style drinkability.
This is the all-grain version. If you want the extract format for a different brew day, see the companion listing: Pacific Snap Cold IPA | Extract Recipe Kit | 5 Gallons.

Flavor and Brewing Character
Expect a clear-to-lightly-brilliant beer with firm bitterness, dry finish, citrus peel, berry, pine, and tropical hop aroma. It should drink more crisp than juicy, with a snappy finish that invites another pint.
Fermentation Requirements
- Recommended fermentation range: 58–64°F with clean lager/hybrid yeast or very clean ale yeast.
- Pitch healthy yeast into fully chilled wort; do not pitch into hot wort.
- Use gravity readings, not airlock activity alone, to confirm fermentation is complete.
- Package only after gravity is stable and the beer tastes clean for the style.
- Plan for a diacetyl rest near the end of fermentation if using lager yeast, followed by cold conditioning when possible.

Why Brewers Choose This Kit
Cold IPA gives hop-focused brewers something different from another hazy IPA or classic West Coast IPA. It is modern, dry, aromatic, and aligned with the way many California brewers think about hops.
Brewing Notes
- Default grain handling: included grain is milled by default and packed together unless a listing or order note says otherwise.
- Mash low, around 148–150°F, to keep the finish dry.
- Avoid heavy crystal malt; this style works best lean and crisp.
- Dry hop after active fermentation slows and package with careful oxygen control.
