Wyeast Wine Yeast Nutrient Blend | 1.5 oz
Wyeast Wine Nutrient Blend is made for wine, cider, and mead fermentations where juice, fruit, or honey may not provide enough yeast nutrition on its own. Wyeast lists the blend as vitamins, minerals, inorganic nitrogen, organic nitrogen, zinc, phosphates, and trace elements for healthier fermentation.
This nutrient is especially useful for fruit wine, cider, and mead, where nutrient deficiencies can contribute to sluggish fermentation, incomplete fermentation, sulfur aromas, or inconsistent results.
Use rate and timing
- Homebrew dosage: 1/2 tsp, about 2.2 g, per 5 gallons of juice or must.
- Wine and cider: dissolve in warm water before adding to juice or must.
- Mead: dissolve in warm water and divide the total amount across several additions according to your nutrient plan. Degas between additions if needed to prevent foaming.
- Storage: keep sealed in an airtight container in a cool environment.
