With its high melanoidin content, this malt is designed to intensify malt complexity, adding depth and a smooth mouthfeel to a wide range of beer styles. Weyermann® Melanoidin Malt is perfect for brewers looking to achieve a fuller, more robust malt character in their beers.
Flavor and Aroma Profile
Weyermann® Melanoidin Malt provides an intense malty sweetness with rich, biscuity, and bready flavors, reminiscent of freshly baked bread crust. It enhances the beer's aroma and adds a warm, reddish-amber color, contributing to both the flavor complexity and visual appeal of your brew. The malt's high melanoidin content promotes a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel, making it ideal for a variety of malt-forward styles.
Typical Usage
Melanoidin Malt is often used in European-style lagers, ales, and amber beers where a strong malt backbone is desired. It is typically used at 1-20% of the grain bill to intensify malt flavor, aroma, and body without overwhelming other ingredients. Weyermann® Melanoidin Malt is particularly suited for Marzens, Bocks, Dunkels, and other malt-forward beers where a rich malt profile is essential.
