Roasted Malts

Roasted malts bring deep color, bold flavors, and rich complexity to darker beer styles, contributing notes of coffee, chocolate, burnt sugar, and deep caramelization. These malts undergo an intense roasting process, which develops their characteristic dark hues and layered flavors.

Our Roasted Malts collection includes a range of specialty grains from top maltsters like Simpsons, Weyermann, Crisp, Rahr, Gambrinus, Dingemans, and Admiral Maltings. Lighter roasted malts, such as Chocolate and Pale Chocolate Malt, provide subtle cocoa and nutty flavors, while Black Malt, Roasted Barley, and Carafa® Special Malts deliver bold espresso, smoke, and deeply roasted characteristics.

These malts are essential for stouts, porters, black IPAs, and other dark beer styles, offering a combination of flavor, color, and mouthfeel enhancement. Available by the ounce or full bag, roasted malts allow brewers to fine-tune the depth and intensity of their dark beers with precision.
