Oat Brewing Grains
Oat Brewing Grains
Oats are used when a beer needs softer body, haze stability, creamy texture, or a rounder finish. They are common in oatmeal stout, hazy IPA, New England pale ale, porter, brown ale, and modern wheat or farmhouse recipes.
This collection includes flaked oats, malted oats, roasted oat malt, and sweeter oat-based specialty malts. Flaked oats are usually chosen for body and haze, while malted or specialty oat products can add more grain flavor, sweetness, or color.
Oats are huskless, so they can slow runoff in larger amounts. Pair them with a reliable base malt and consider rice hulls for oat-heavy recipes.
