Omega Propper Seltzer Yeast Nutrient | 28 g

Omega Propper Seltzer is a dry yeast nutrient made for hard seltzer and other sugar-based fermentations. Sugar wort does not provide the same nutrient base as malt wort or fruit must, so a dedicated nutrient helps yeast ferment a cleaner, drier base.

Omega lists the 28 g homebrew pack as enough nutrient for 5 gallons of sugar wort at 1.060 or lower. Use it when making hard seltzer, neutral sugar washes, or similar fermentations where the base is mostly simple sugar and water.

How to use Propper Seltzer

• Dissolve your sugar in hot water and adjust the batch to your target gravity.

• Cool to fermentation temperature, aerate well, and pitch an appropriate yeast strain.
• For fast, clean hard seltzer, pair with a yeast strain suited to sugar-based fermentation.

Best fit

Propper Seltzer is most useful when the fermentable base is nutrient-poor. It is not a substitute for good sanitation, oxygen management, temperature control, or a healthy yeast pitch, but it helps solve one of the main problems in hard seltzer fermentation: simple sugar provides fermentables without enough yeast nutrition.
