Mighty Mill 2 Roller Grain Mill for Homebrewing

The Mighty Mill 2 Roller Grain Mill gives all-grain and partial-mash brewers control over malt crush before mash-in. It has adjustable 304 stainless steel rollers, a 7 lb hopper, a metal base, and can be operated with the included hand crank or powered with a compatible drill.

Milling at home lets you keep grain whole until brew day, adjust the gap for your own mash tun or brew-in-a-bag setup, and avoid relying on one generic crush for every recipe. A good crush should open the kernels while leaving enough husk structure to support lautering.

Why Mill Grain Yourself?

  • Crush control: adjust the roller gap around your brewing system, grain bill, and lautering needs.
  • Freshness: store malt whole, then crush only what the recipe needs close to brew day.
  • Recipe flexibility: tune the crush for base malt, specialty malt, wheat, rye, oats, and adjunct-heavy grists.
  • Repeatability: record settings so successful batches are easier to reproduce.

Setup and Brewing Notes

Start with a conservative gap setting, mill a small test handful, and inspect the crush before running the full grain bill. Avoid grinding so fine that the mash turns floury or the lauter sticks, especially in cooler-style mash tuns. Brew-in-a-bag systems can often tolerate a finer crush, but runoff, bag handling, and recipe goals still matter.

Keep the rollers dry, brush out grain dust after use, and store the mill where moisture cannot sit on the metal parts. For brew-day ingredients and related gear, browse our grain mills, brewing grains, and brewing equipment collections.
