Complete the brew day:
Bella Strada Italian Pilsner Extract Recipe Kit for Italian Pilsner / Dry-Hopped Pilsner Character
Bella Strada Italian Pilsner is an extract kit for brewers who want a refined, aromatic pale lager without an all-grain mash. Italian Pilsner grew from modern Italian craft brewing as a crisp pilsner with a little more hop fragrance and personality than a standard pale lager.
This kit keeps the beer pale, dry, and clean while giving the hops enough room to show floral and lightly spicy character. Choose it if you want a polished lager-style beer with more elegance than a lawnmower beer, but less weight and bitterness than an IPA.
This is the extract version. If you want the all-grain format for a different brew day, see the companion listing: Bella Strada Italian Pilsner | All-grain Recipe Kit | 5 Gallons.

Flavor and Brewing Character
The extract version keeps the grain handling simple while still giving the brewer the key Italian pilsner experience: clean pale malt, noble-hop aroma, and a crisp lager finish.
Fermentation Requirements
- Recommended fermentation range: 50–54°F primary; 60–64°F diacetyl rest; 34–38°F cold conditioning.
- Pitch healthy yeast into fully chilled wort; do not pitch into hot wort.
- Use gravity readings, not airlock activity alone, to confirm fermentation is complete.
- Package only after gravity is stable and the beer tastes clean for the style.
- Plan for a diacetyl rest near the end of fermentation if using lager yeast, followed by cold conditioning when possible.
Detailed Kit Contents
- Briess Pilsen Light DME: 6 lbs.

Why Brewers Choose This Kit
This kit is a strong choice for extract brewers who want something more refined than a basic lager kit and less bitter than IPA. Good temperature control is still important.
Brewing Notes
- Dissolve extract completely and avoid darkening the wort with unnecessary caramelization.
- Ferment cool and steady for a true pilsner profile.
- Keep cold-side dry hopping short and controlled.
