Lighter caramel malts (10-40°L) add subtle sweetness and golden hues, while medium caramel malts (50-80°L) bring deeper toffee, caramel, and dried fruit notes. Darker crystal malts (90-150°L) contribute rich, intense caramelized sugar flavors with hints of burnt sugar, raisin, and molasses.
