British and Irish beers are known for their rich malt character, balanced bitterness, and sessionable drinkability. Rooted in centuries of brewing tradition, these styles include everything from bitter and malty English ales to dark, roasty Irish stouts. Many of these beers are served on cask, offering low carbonation and a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel.

Our British & Irish Beer Recipe Kits include both extract and all-grain options, developed by SoCal Brewing Supplyand our brewing collaborators. Many of these recipes are award-winning, ensuring authentic and high-quality results. These styles typically ferment in the mid-60s°F range, with proper temperature control helping to develop smooth malt complexity and subtle fermentation esters.

Popular styles include English Bitter, a balanced, easy-drinking ale with a light malt backbone and floral hop bitterness; Best Bitter, a fuller-bodied version with caramel and toasty malt complexity; and ESB (Extra Special Bitter), the strongest and most malt-forward of the English bitter styles. English Mild is a low-alcohol, malty session ale, while Brown Ale offers nutty, caramel flavors with a smooth finish.

For darker styles, Porters and Stouts originated in England and Ireland, with variations such as Dry Irish Stout, featuring roasted barley bitterness and a creamy texture, and Sweet Stout (Milk Stout), which incorporates lactose for added body and sweetness. Irish Red Ale is known for its deep amber color, light caramel maltiness, and smooth drinkability.
