Full-Flavored Base Malt for Malt-Forward Beers
Rahr Pale Ale Malt is a robust base malt made from 2-row barley, specifically designed for brewers looking to craft malt-forward beers with rich depth and flavor. Known for its slightly darker color compared to standard 2-row malts, Rahr Pale Ale Malt imparts a rich, malty sweetness with hints of biscuit and toasted bread, making it ideal for a variety of ale styles. This malt is perfect for pale ales, IPAs, amber ales, and other styles that require a strong malt backbone.
Flavor and Aroma Profile
This malt offers a full, malty flavor with subtle nutty, biscuit, and lightly toasted notes. Rahr Pale Ale Malt brings a deeper color, typically ranging from 3-4L, contributing a rich golden to light amber hue to your beer. The malt sweetness is balanced, providing complexity without overpowering the hops or other ingredients.
Typical Usage
Rahr Pale Ale Malt is an excellent base malt for a wide range of ale styles. It provides both the enzymatic strength to convert adjuncts and a rich malt profile for fuller-bodied beers. This malt is typically used at 70-100% of the grain bill and can serve as the foundation for more complex recipes with additional specialty malts.
