Midnight Reserve Coffee Vanilla Imperial Stout All-grain Recipe Kit for Coffee Vanilla Imperial Stout Character

Midnight Reserve Coffee Vanilla Imperial Stout is a big all-grain stout for brewers who want a slow-sipping specialty beer with roast, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and cellar-worthy depth. Imperial stout has roots in strong export-strength stout traditions, while the coffee-and-vanilla treatment reflects the modern craft stout world of layered dessert and barrel-room flavors.

This kit is built for a rich 5 gallon batch with dense malt structure, espresso roast, dark chocolate, subtle vanilla sweetness, full body, and warming strength. Choose it when you want a premium seasonal brew, a holiday share bottle, or a stout worth giving extra conditioning time.

Fermentation Requirements

  • Recommended fermentation range: 64–68°F, with extended conditioning recommended.
  • Pitch healthy yeast into fully chilled wort; do not pitch into hot wort.
  • Use gravity readings, not airlock activity alone, to confirm fermentation is complete.
  • Package only after gravity is stable and the beer tastes clean for the style.

Why Brewers Choose This Kit

This is the premium winter stout slot for brewers who want something bigger than dry stout, porter, or standard imperial stout.

Brewing Notes

  • After primary fermentation, gently crack the whole-bean coffee and add it in a sanitized bag for 24–48 hours.
  • Split the 3 vanilla beans lengthwise with a sanitized knife, add the pods and seeds during conditioning, and taste every 1–2 days until the vanilla is balanced.
  • Default grain handling: included grain is milled by default and packed together unless a listing or order note says otherwise.
  • Mash around 154°F for body, but avoid making the beer cloying.
  • High-gravity fermentation needs oxygen, enough yeast, and patience.
  • Coffee and vanilla additions are included as a measured adjunct pack. Add according to the instructions and taste carefully; too much contact time can dominate the beer.
