Intense Tropical Hazy IPA All-Grain Recipe Kit for a Bigger Juicy IPA Brew Day
Intense Tropical Hazy IPA is a 5 gallon all-grain recipe kit built for brewers who want a louder, more saturated hazy IPA profile: pale orange haze, plush body, heavy tropical aroma, and a smooth finish that keeps the hop character expressive instead of harsh.
The grain bill uses Rahr Standard 2-Row as a clean base with flaked oats and Rahr White Wheat Malt for haze, foam, and soft mouthfeel. Rice hulls are included because the oat-and-wheat load is high enough that runoff support matters. The hop bill layers Trident, Citra, El Dorado, and Azacca for tropical fruit, citrus, mango, pineapple, pear, candy-like fruit, and stone-fruit aromatics.
This is the all-grain version and is intended for brewers using a mash-capable setup. The grains are milled by default and packed together unless an order note or product option says otherwise.
This is the all-grain version. If you want a shorter brew day with dry malt extract and a partial mash for oat-and-wheat body, see the Intense Tropical Hazy IPA extract recipe kit.

Flavor and Brewing Character
Expect a hop-forward hazy IPA with ripe tropical fruit, citrus, mango, pineapple, pear, stone fruit, and soft candy-like fruit character. The malt profile is intentionally pale and rounded rather than caramel-heavy, giving the hops room to stay bright while the oats and wheat create the fuller body brewers expect from the style.

Fermentation Requirements
- Fermenter: Use a clean, sanitized fermenter with enough headspace for a healthy 5 gallon IPA fermentation.
- Temperature control: Ferment around 68°F for a clean, expressive 2 sachets LalBrew Pomona Hybrid IPA Yeast profile.
- Dry hop handling: Add the dry hops near the end of fermentation and limit contact to about 3–5 days.
- Oxygen control: Keep transfers gentle after fermentation starts slowing. Hazy IPA aroma fades quickly when finished beer is exposed to oxygen.
All-Grain Brew Day Notes
- Mash at 153°F: This supports the soft body expected from a hazy IPA without making the beer syrupy.
- Use the rice hulls: They help prevent runoff problems from the oats and wheat.
- Optional kettle additions: Yeast nutrient and Whirlfloc are not included, but you may add them with 10 minutes left in the boil if you normally use them.
- Whirlpool around 170°F: This helps preserve saturated hop aroma while limiting rough bitterness.
- Drink fresh: This beer is best while the dry-hop aroma is bright.
