K-97 is well-known for forming a thick, stable krausen and producing beers with a bright, refined finish.

  • Altbier
  • German Blonde Ales
  • Hoppy European Pale Ales

Fermentation & Usage Tips

  • Direct pitch: Certified E2U™—sprinkle directly into wort without rehydration.
  • Optional rehydration: Rehydrate in 10× its weight in sterile water at 77–84°F (25–29°C) for 15–30 minutes.
  • Dosage: 50–80 g/hL; one 11.5 g sachet is suitable for 5–6 gallons of wort.

Handling & Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 59°F (15°C). For long-term storage, refrigeration is recommended. Shelf life is 36 months from production date. Reseal opened sachets and refrigerate promptly.

Our Yeast Handling Commitment

All of our yeast is stored under ideal refrigerated conditions with 24/7 temperature monitoring. We recommend adding ice packs to yeast shipments to protect against rapid temperature changes. Melted packs are normal and still effective in stabilizing transit conditions.
