Ideal Yeast for Sour Beer Production
Sourvisiae® is a bioengineered ale yeast strain (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) capable of producing lactic acid during fermentation, providing brewers with an easy, reproducible, and mono-culture product for sour-style beer production. This strain allows brewers to ferment and sour the beer in one simple step, reducing cross-contamination risks, lowering costs, and cutting total process time.
This 10g sachet is designed to ferment up to 6 gallons (23 liters) of wort, making it ideal for homebrewers.

Our Commitment to Yeast Health
At SoCal Brewing Supply, we take yeast storage and viability very seriously (Yes, even Dry yeasts). We ensure yeast is always stored under optimal conditions, with 24-hour monitoring of refrigerator temperatures to prevent spikes that could negatively impact yeast health.
For Dry yeast shipments, we offer ice packs and insulated envelopes as an optional add-on for customers looking for extra protection during hotter months. It’s normal for ice packs to melt during transit; their purpose is to protect the yeast from extreme temperatures caused by external weather conditions.
