Temperature & Pressure Guidelines
The FermZilla Gen 3.2 can safely handle wort transfers and hot cleaning liquids below 131°F when not pressurized. However, under pressure, it's critical to keep fermentation temperatures below 95°F. This is especially important for high-temperature yeast strains, like kveik yeast, which can ferment at elevated temperatures. Exceeding these temperature guidelines can lead to tank damage or failure, and we recommend replacing your tank every two years for optimal performance.
Care & Maintenance Instructions
To ensure your FermZilla has a long lifespan:
- Inspect every 6-12 months for stress marks or wear, especially when used under pressure.
- Hydro test every 2 years by filling the tank with water and pressurizing it to 4 BAR (58 psi) using a Green PRVrated at 4.5 BAR or higher. Replace the Red PRV after testing.
Important: Do not leave cleaning agents like PBW or StarSan in the tank for more than an hour, as prolonged exposure may degrade the PET material and reduce the lifespan of the tank.
