Flaked Rye
We sell our grain in one-ounce increments and by the bulk bag, allowing you to buy exactly what you need for your recipes. We accurately weigh out your selected grain and offer two convenient bagging options. To get the best pricing, we encourage you to use our Grain Bill selection radial buttons (Recipe #1, 2, or 3)—this lets us combine your selected grains into a single bag, reducing labor and packaging costs, with savings passed on to you. If you prefer each grain variety bagged separately, we’re happy to accommodate, though an additional fee applies due to the extra handling required. We also offer free milling upon request!

Flaked Rye – Perfect for Adding Spice and Body to Your Brews
Flaked Rye is an excellent choice for brewers looking to enhance the flavor, mouthfeel, and complexity of their beers. Known for its spicy, earthy character, Flaked Rye is a versatile ingredient that adds a distinctive twist to a variety of beer styles, from IPAs to rye ales, saisons, and stouts.
With its high beta-glucan content, Flaked Rye contributes to a fuller body and a creamy mouthfeel, making it perfect for recipes that call for a rich, smooth texture. Unlike malted rye, Flaked Rye is pre-gelatinized, allowing it to be easily mashed without additional milling.
At SoCal Brewing Supply, we offer Flaked Rye in quantities tailored to your brewing needs:
- By the Ounce: Ideal for small batches and precise recipe development.
- 50 lb Bags: Perfect for frequent brewers or those scaling up production.
Key Features:
- Flavor Profile: Spicy, earthy, and slightly nutty
- Applications: Ideal for rye ales, stouts, saisons, and experimental styles
- Texture Contribution: Adds body, creaminess, and a silky mouthfeel
- Ease of Use: Pre-gelatinized for direct mashing
Whether you're crafting a classic rye ale or experimenting with new recipes, Flaked Rye is an essential addition to your grain bill.
