Rich and Toasty Base Malt for Balanced, Malt-Forward Beers
Gambrinus Vienna Malt is a versatile base malt that brings a rich, toasty malt character to your brews. Known for its smooth malt sweetness and mild caramel flavors, this malt is perfect for creating balanced, malt-forward beers with a golden to amber hue. Gambrinus Vienna Malt provides a slightly more intense flavor than pale malt but remains balanced enough to allow other ingredients to shine, making it a great choice for a variety of beer styles.
Flavor and Aroma Profile
Gambrinus Vienna Malt imparts a smooth, malty sweetness with notes of toasted bread, light caramel, and a slight nuttiness. It adds a warm golden to light amber color to your beer, enhancing both its visual appeal and malt complexity. The malt’s flavor profile is rich yet clean, providing the perfect balance between sweetness and toastiness without overwhelming the palate.
Typical Usage
Vienna Malt is often used in beer styles that require a robust malt backbone without excessive sweetness. It is commonly found in Vienna lagers, Märzens, and amber ales, but its versatility allows it to be used in many other styles. Vienna malt can make up 50-100% of the grain bill, depending on the desired malt intensity and color.
